Acropolis has no MCP server and no published skill package. To work with it, an agent needs three things: these docs, the `acropolis` binary, and its machine-readable output. To deploy on Olimpia with Acropolis, it also needs [Olimpia's MCP server](#build-on-olimpia).

## Give the agent the docs

Every page of this site can be read without HTML:

| URL | what it is |
| --- | --- |
| [`/llms.txt`](https://acropolis.olimpia.dev/llms.txt) | Index of the docs, in sidebar order, with a summary of each page. |
| [`/llms-full.txt`](https://acropolis.olimpia.dev/llms-full.txt) | All the docs in one Markdown file. |
| `/<page>.md` | The Markdown of any page, such as [`/cli.md`](https://acropolis.olimpia.dev/cli.md). |
| [`/skill.md`](https://acropolis.olimpia.dev/skill.md) | A skill file generated from these docs, with a map of the pages. |

Paste this at the start of a task:

```txt
Read https://acropolis.olimpia.dev/llms.txt and use it to answer questions about Acropolis.
```

Or fetch one page:

```bash
curl https://acropolis.olimpia.dev/cli.md
```

## Install the binary

Acropolis runs on Linux x86_64 or arm64 with glibc 2.36 or newer. `build` needs root; `plan` does not. Install a pinned release and verify it:

```bash
v=v0.3.1 target=x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu   # or aarch64-unknown-linux-gnu
gh release download "$v" -R olimpiacloud/acropolis -p "acropolis-$v-$target.tar.gz" -p SHA256SUMS &&
  sha256sum --ignore-missing -c SHA256SUMS &&
  gh attestation verify "acropolis-$v-$target.tar.gz" -R olimpiacloud/acropolis &&
  tar xzf "acropolis-$v-$target.tar.gz" &&
  sudo install "acropolis-$v-$target/acropolis" /usr/local/bin/
acropolis --version
```

The `&&` chain stops before extracting or installing if the checksum or the attestation check fails.

On macOS or Windows, run it in a Linux VM or in the [builder image](/install#builder-image). More options in [Install](/install).

## Use machine-readable output

| to get | use |
| --- | --- |
| The build plan as JSON, on stdout | `acropolis plan ./app --json` |
| One JSON event per stderr line | `acropolis --events json build ...` (global flag) |
| A JSON summary of the build, also on failure | `acropolis build ./app --info info.json` |
| The digest, manifest and config of an image, on stdout | `acropolis inspect REF` |
| What to do after a failure | The exit code: `1`, `70`, `75` or `78` |

Shapes and fields are in [Tools](/agents/tools) and the [CLI reference](/cli).

## Build on Olimpia [#build-on-olimpia]

[Olimpia](https://olimpia.dev) can build an app with Acropolis as an opt-in builder. Agents drive Olimpia through its MCP server:

```txt
https://api.olimpia.dev/mcp
```

**Claude Code**

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http olimpia https://api.olimpia.dev/mcp
```

**Codex**

```bash
codex mcp add olimpia --url https://api.olimpia.dev/mcp
```

The first time, the client opens olimpia.dev so you approve the connection with your session. Other clients are in [Olimpia's docs](https://docs.olimpia.dev/agentes/conectar).

Olimpia's skill teaches the agent its deploy flow:

```bash
bunx skills add olimpiacloud/olimpia-skills
```

Olimpia's `create_app` and `update_app` tools take `builder`: `"acropolis"` builds with Acropolis, `"default"` uses the Dockerfile when there is one and Railpack otherwise. If Acropolis cannot build the app, Olimpia continues with the default builder. See [Build on Olimpia](/agents/workflows#build-on-olimpia).
